Grains are classified as Positive, Neutral and Negative. Millets within the range of 8 % to 12.5% of dietary fiber are constituted as positive millets. Foxtail, Kodo, Barnyard, Little and BrownTop are all positive grains. Whereas, millets with lesser dietary fiber such as Finger, Pearl, Proso, Great Millet etc. are neutral grains. Millets are considered as ‘miracle grains’, hence the name “SiriDhanyalu”.
Millets are cooked the same way as one cooks rice. It can be used as a healthier alternative to Rice and other grains.
