Our Himalayan Kala Jeera is grown and sourced from remote villages at heights above 2000 feet in the Himalaya. Considered a stimulant in Ayurveda, Kala Jeera or Black Caraway seeds have been used as a medicine for centuries in India and Egypt to treat various digestive issues. Caraway seeds have a delicate, nutty flavor with a hint of orange and anise. Kala Jeera can be used as a tasty seasoning in all kinds of foods, including breads, poultry and salads, Kala Jeera seeds are a rich source of dietary fiber as well as being an excellent source of minerals like iron, copper, calcium, potassium, manganese and selenium.
