“The fruit of the tree are very tasteful; One who regularly consumes the juice of the jamun tree, does not suffer from old age, disease and can even resist death…” Vayu puran, Chapter 46, verse 28/29.

The juice fruit-pulp contains resin, gallic acid and tannin; it taste usually from acid to fairly sweet. Jamun seed contain a biochemical called ‘jamb olin’ and glcoside which checks the conversion of starch into sugar. It has a high source in vitamin A and vitamin C.
